Jordan Zimmerman, Coordinator donate -at- helpgerrygibbs.com 831-214-2990 In 1992, Gerry was hit in the face during a robbery and his mouth suffered severe trauma. By 1996 he'd had five teeth removed due to cracked roots and 23 root canals. At the time he could not afford to have all 23 teeth crowned so he went without until 2000. By then some of those unprotected root canal teeth started to have issues and he had more removed. By the conclusion of this period he only had 13 working teeth and had 3 bridges. In November 2008, he was rushed to the emergency room at Valley Presbyterian Hospital for gallbladder surgery. When putting a respirator in his throat his two teeth closest to the front were knocked out and his front teeth were severely loosened. Today he is wearing a "flipper" for the tooth that was eventually lost and is barely able to eat food with the other two extremely loose teeth. He has been to many dentists and all have told him differently how to deal with this problem. The expense for the procedures recommended would put him out onto the street. The estimates are all in the $60,0000 - $70,000 range. One thing that every dentist agrees is that he needs to have all 13 teeth removed and have a new reconstruction of his mouth. Most say he needs bone grafting. A few think it's possible to put in a denture that is permanent with 6 to 8 top implants and 4 bottom implants. It's vital, though, that Gerry gets help as soon as possible. He has a serious infection that could spread to other parts of his body and cause him permanent damage.
